We want everyone to feel safe and in control of their experience in Meta Horizon Worlds, so we’re always working to add more tools and features that give people greater control.
Our Conduct in VR Policy and Meta Horizon Worlds Prohibited Content Policy outlines what is and is not allowed on our platform. All new Meta Horizon Worlds users go through an onboarding process that explains how to use our safety features and we explain what will happen if people violate our policies.
Safe Zone
If someone is bothering you, you can tap the shield icon on your wrist menu and pull up Safe Zone. This is a personal space where you can take a moment away from other people and your surroundings. From here, you can mute, block and report content or people.
Personal Boundary
If someone is getting too close, or you feel like they are invading your personal space, we give you the choice of setting up what we call ‘Personal Boundary’. This creates a 4-foot distance between you and other people — and we turn this on by default for anyone who isn’t your friend that you might meet in Meta Horizon Worlds.
Voice Mode
We also know it can be overwhelming when there are a lot of conversations happening around you, so we launched Voice Mode. This turns conversations between nearby users, not on your friends list, into unintelligible but friendly sounds. This feature allows you to choose how you hear people who aren’t on your friends list, including the option to not hear unwanted conversations at all.
